iWebServe (iwebserve.ca) is operated by Michael Perks, a web designer and hosting provider based in Duncan, British Columbia, Canada. iWebServe is a free informational website — there are no accounts, no purchases, and no services delivered through this site.

What this site does not collect
iWebServe does not use analytics software of any kind. There is no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Matomo, no Fathom, and no equivalent tracking on this site. No behavioural data about how you navigate this site is collected or transmitted to any third party.
This site does not use advertising networks, affiliate tracking, social media pixels, or any third-party scripts of any kind. All fonts are self-hosted — there are no requests to Google Fonts, Adobe Fonts, or any external font service.
This site has no newsletter signup, no user accounts, and no checkout. There is no subscription, registration, or purchase process on iWebServe.
This site does not use cookies. The only browser storage used is localStorage, which stores your light or dark mode preference locally on your device. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to the server.
Contact form submissions
iWebServe has a contact form on the contact page. If you use it, the following information is submitted and emailed directly to Michael Perks at hello@iwebserve.ca: your first name, last name, email address, the topic you selected, and the message you wrote. Your IP address is also logged at the time of submission for spam prevention purposes.
This information is used only to respond to your message. It is not added to any mailing list, not shared with third parties, and not used for any other purpose. Contact form submissions are retained in email for as long as the correspondence is relevant, and are deleted when no longer needed.
If you contact us about an accessibility issue, the content of your message may be used to investigate and fix the reported problem — the substance of the report may be referenced in an updated accessibility statement, but no personal information will be published.
What the web server does collect
As with any website, your browser exchanges technical information with the web server when you request a page. The hosting server automatically records this in standard access logs. A typical log entry includes your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page URL requested, your browser type and version, and your operating system.
This logging is a function of the hosting infrastructure, not the iWebServe application. The server is operated by a Canadian web hosting provider. Log data is used only for security monitoring and server administration — to detect errors, block abusive traffic, and diagnose technical problems. It is not used to profile individual visitors or identify personal browsing behaviour.
Server access logs are retained for a standard period consistent with hosting provider policy, typically 30 to 90 days, after which they are automatically overwritten. Michael Perks does not extract or store individual log records beyond this automated retention cycle.
Third-party services
iWebServe loads no external resources on any page. All CSS, JavaScript, fonts, and the search library (Fuse.js, self-hosted on this domain) are served from iwebserve.ca. Visiting any page of this site — including the search page — sends no requests to third-party servers of any kind.
Some articles link to external websites, including designmenu.ca and islandrank.ca. When you follow a link to another site, that site's own privacy policy applies. iWebServe is not responsible for the data practices of external sites.
Your rights under Canadian privacy law
Canada's federal private-sector privacy law (PIPEDA) gives individuals the right to request access to personal information held about them, to request correction of inaccurate information, and to file a complaint if they believe their privacy rights have been violated.
Because iWebServe collects no personal information beyond standard server logs — which are not linked to identifiable individuals and are not retained beyond the hosting provider's standard cycle — there is typically no personal information to access or correct. If you have a specific concern, use the contact page and it will be addressed directly.
If you are not satisfied with the response to a privacy concern, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca. Quebec residents may also contact the Commission d'accès à l'information at cai.gouv.qc.ca.
Changes to this policy
If iWebServe ever adds a contact form, analytics, or any other feature that changes the data practices described here, this policy will be updated before that feature goes live. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent review.
